Suggestion for the Operator - to reduce "running".
My own observations and "chat" with others, has led me to believe that we need a solution to reduce running - especially during the first two ends. Two typical scenarios:
1. Player 1 has the hammer in the 1st, wins, then quits - thereby stopping player 2 from possibly winning the 2nd.
2. Player 1 has the hammer in the first, looks like winning, and player 2 quits before the end of the first - aaaargh!
My suggestion is that all games have a minimum of 2 ends, with more significant points penalties if either player quits before the end of the 2nd. It must surely be possible to program this.
I'd be interested what the Op and other players think. If it isn't a good idea I'll order a taxi!
I had a situation where I was able to steal one in the first end. In the second my opponent scored two and left. So its not the final solution to play 2 ends minimum. I think it doesnt matter what the guys of fly or die do it will always be possible to find a way to play unfair.
excellent idea you force your opponent in taking 1 point when he has hammer and the first end which takes skill to do sometimes and he runs away with his point it is very fustrating and needs to be stopped

It is a maximum AND a minimum.

"anything that deters unsporting behaviour would be good"

You are right. But unintentional disconnections also need to be taken into consideration.
Maybe you wanted +8 +8 +8 +8 in the above described situation, however I do not think it would be quite fair if someone is disconnected due to network problems to get a -32 because of it.

The current system tries to balance between deterring unfair players, and not deterring unintentional disconnecters.

OP
Thanks Hokej. I do subscribe, and I do set the number of ends. This sets a maximum number of ends - not a minimum.
My suggestion was to set a minimum number of two.

Scenario 2 in my original post happened yesterday. Four ends set, first end I had hammer. I had 5 stones in the house, opponent had 2 both lying "shot". I had an "easy" double take out, possibly for 5 or 6. Opponent quit before I played my final shot, so I didn't get to play it! Outcome was that I got 1, and 1+1+1 for the three unplayed ends; 4 in total. None of us really play for points, but anything that deters unsporting behaviour (which happens all the time) would be good. Had I been my opponent I would have stayed, then posted "good shot". That's called etiquette....
Muddyd:

ad.1 All players have choice how many ends want play,if someone want play 1 him choice if you want play minimum 2 ends set up number of ends....

ad.2 what about with for example if someone have disconnection and leave end early, what them?system not see diffrent now....and probably very hard change this...

So best option for you is subscribe and set up ends if you want minimum 2 ends.

ps.You have same Thread before....
