Yes it's true, but it's only true if you are playing on the sub then login on an unsub nick then you go to play on your subscribed nickname and it gives you adds sometimes.

Obviously you should only use your subscribed nick.

Is there any valid reason why you should use more nicks?

As OP said.  When you log on with your subbed account there will be no advertisements.  

Why would you then log on with an un-subbed nick, of course you will get advertisements.

Players with subbed and non subbed names usually refer to the non subbed ones as their 'practice nick' :)
