He's got the most gold medals ever and the most golds in a single games. Is he really the greatest athlete of all time? Michael Johnson (ex USA sprinter) doesn't agree and says it's only because swimming has so many events. He can't win the freestyle so he's not even the fastest swimmer.

its hard to say who is the greatest athlete of all time...in swimming,hes the greatest,fact. but in overall for me Lance Armstrong is still the best. Not just because he won TDF for 7 years in a row,but because he had cancer,and got through it. other great athletes: Sergey Bubka Carl Lewis Mark Spitz Bjorn Borg ... i could go on for ages
