Just click on run_comp_human.

When you see this:

you just enter number 1-7, where you wish to make your move and then hit enter.

k, thnks johan :p. thats all i wanted to know. it semmes pretty poor now.

I wouldn't recommend practising with Milton since it does many mistakes in its start. I broke it almost every game I played against it. =P

It's suppose to work and look that way. It doesn't have a GUI. You just type the moves you want to do in the CLI.

thats all well adn good, but the actual program does not come up? only the windows system thing when i start up the any o0f the 4 batch files (without book included).

Geben sie ihren zug ein! is normal. I get it all time. I think it's asking for your move by that statement. But the error part I do not get.
Just a quick check for you. I have 19 files and one folder in my milton folder... just in case you have something missing.

ive extracted all files, and click on the run_comp_human start up thing then it comes up with german alert: Geben sie ihren zug ein! which according to google translate means : give her a train ? :O please help me.
