server disconnections
I face server disconnections very frequently.Although I reconnect immediatelly most of the time,I automatically lose points as if I gave up intentially. Why can't I immediatelly reconnect to the game's last move I was playin? If this is technically impossible , at least one should maintain his points before the game.
I have the same problem. I also have huge problems with stupid ads that slow my computer (which is not a small one) and cant download the forms to subscribe to get rid of them as it appears to be a none secure site.
I also have the same problem: the screen goes black during a game. I'm guessing that the blinking adds bring this on (and it is so enjoyable that the adds keep on blinking while I forfeit my match, thank you). If the adds are the problem, I assume paying, what, $8 for an annual subscription, will maybe solve this? I don't understand computers (nor chess, to any significant extent!). So I'd sure like it if someone will shed some light on the dynamics of this problem. what causes it?? thank you, chess loser.
I'm fed up trying to log in and being left hanging, having to control-alt-delete and start again several times before eventually being allowed in. What's really irritating is that there is no problem logging in as a guest. This, added to the loss of points because the server breaks connections has destroyed my enjoyment of this site.
The site is going from bad to worse....
Let me tell you what I believe.

I believe that you will get more disconnections if your not a sub. I don't understand completly why it's like that but I'm very sure once you become a sub. you will have less or any connections at all.

Have you ever given out your password before? Have you wrote your password down so you won't forget and someone has access to see what your password is?

To be honest mines on and off....

Most of the time i hardly ever d/c...
Recently i have been d/c alot and ive been on PC version so it dosent matter if your subcribed or not..
For me the game runs perfect in pc version but not so good on web.....

So many reasons why you can d/c....

sharing your connection.
the locations of you and the player your playing, your connecting to fod servers & to your opponent, anything can make that connection fail..

Usually if im playing FOD that would be the only window i have open on my desktop, i run ccleaner regular, i dont have much on my desktop & my signal strength is very good so theirs nothing more i can really do....

End of the day it gets annoying:(

I feel your pain:)

The only way you get more d/c's on web version versus the PC version would be if you have a 56k modem as the web version requires more elements going through the modem than the simple PC game. But even then doubtful.
I have subbed for past 6 months, the last three weeks the [darn] thing is disconecting about every TEN MINUTES I thought it may be my screen size grahics card etc but no it still disconects if i play small screen, sort it flyordie its rubbish!!!!!!!

<<OI! Your connection goes through 1-~ amount of routers and systems before it gets to FoD. It could be anywhere, yes, maybe Fod, but the odds are it's a system somewhere in the middle. And the next time you you cuss, will be your last on here.>>
