Unless I'm mistaken, when you steal from someone, it does at least four stat-vs-stat checks (quick, dex, luck, stealing level). If one fails, you get a failure message which indirectly indicates which check failed. So I suppose the number of times you get a particular message may indicate the stat you need to improve. Sandy
i'm not confident that stealing lvl is checked against the other player. i believe it's possible, but i haven't seen a test for or against it. i'm pretty confident stealing lvl plays a part in how much you are able to get (similar to how robbing lvl affects how much you can rob). and also to be noted, pretty sure it's not an equal test of each stat against the other player (otherwise low lvl thieves would never be able to steal from high lvl fighters due to the dex and quickness stats). but it's more like the robbing vs trap lvls... there's a random factor in them. --jason

Included in the list of characters I've done it with were "good" and "bad" thiefs, according to their stats. Characters with 200+ luck seem to fare neither better nor worse than characters with a balance of dex, luck and quick. Furthermore, characters with ridiculously imbalanced stats like ~200 strength and 1's in pretty much everything else do just as well as any other. As for diggers, drop down stealing diamond nails on TA was so easy compared to digging and dumping, I used it to level up all four of my secondary account diggers until their luck was 206 and they no longer dug up copper, tin or iron. With that said, had I used them for digging rather than stealing throughout those first 50 levels, they each would have earned themselves uncounted hundreds of millions more silvers by the iron drop off point. I hesitate to calculate the actual amount. At level 40, digging earns about 3.5x the silvers per click (and about the same XP) compared to stealing nails. At level 60, digging earns about 5x the silvers per click (and about 1.5x the XP). Full details of that can be found [url=
