you are not a robber, you are a thief :p robbers rob people's houses. thieves take stuff out of people's packs. anyway, to answer your question (i assume you're subscribed, because that is the only way you can steal from people)... when stealing from people, i believe your luck, dexterity, and speed are compared to the potential victim's of each of those (plus a bunch of random factors... so it's not necessarily just who's higher... one who's lower in all three can still sometimes steal successfully). then if you are successful, your stealing level determines how many different items, and how many of each item, you take (again, with a bunch of randomness in there). i don't suggest trying to steal from people though, at least until your character is lvl 20-25 (or higher), and your stealing level is at least 100 (preferably closer to 200)... if you haven't met those two "suggestions", you will get very few successes. --jason
Being a pure thief is hard if you dont like getting attacked. If you dont mind it then you're o.k. I look at it as part of the game. I have a character that I'm training as a pure robber (R.Obber) he can steal from higher and lower level characters. I'll fight lower level characters winning most of the time. Higer level I'll try but mostly I lose. There's an unwritten code of conduct when it comes to stealing or robbing. 1) Wait around for a bit to see if the person wants to fight you to get their stuff back. Hiding is not out of the question but you'd better have a good reason. 2) Dont sell items that are really rare or really valuable. Give the person an opportunity to get the item back...just sell it to them at good price. Some of the stuff takes the other players many clicks, silvers, time, and other items to make. I just sell it back to them at 50%, or let them kill me. 3) Always be a gentleman. You dont get to choose what you steal from a person or rob from a house. I have even market transfered money to lower level players. One was walking through CC with a bunch of silver on their way to the market for an upgrade. 4) If someone posts on the forum or asks you to go to chat on an item you should respond on the forum or in chat and remember rule 3.
in response to mm's reply...remindeds me of something....lusha can i have those 30 nails back :s...lol jk :p HH just got sent home for the first time in a while and noticed 300 nails missing from kat :S
lmao artic, you know how long it's been?:p LOL i'm not even subbed right now but if you find me i'll be sure to have a few laying around lol
i don't do that at all wait here's an example A magician is trying to tie his shoelaces! You take 43 silvers from his sack easily! 55 experience points earned! You need 20 847 more experience points for the next level!
then that's not even stealing from people... that's stealing from "npc"s (non-player characters). you're just drop-down stealing from "the game". and to answer your original question then... no, luck does not give you more success. the only thing that gives you more success while drop-down stealing is raising your stealing level. --jason
