My only moan is that Bill Murray loses out on what was probably his last chance to win an Oscar, and that Sean 'Overacting' Penn snatched it from the Ghostbusters nose. S'good point made by Şŋΐρέ, but that does happen quite often (believe it or not!).

At the end of the day it was a very strong field, and while ROTK won everything in sight, a few other films crept in while it was partying and pinched a few statuettes from behind its back…

So, do you think ROTK deserved it's record equalling eleven Oscar haul?

, I'll try and keep this simple.

If you have a DSL line, everytime you arrive at the desktop to your OS you're connecting to the internet.  And every time you connect to the internet, you are given a new IP address.  If we say an IP address is in four parts, half of it always remains the same - and it is this that shows who your ISP is - and the other half is generated for each new connection.  This is what we would call a 

rolling

 IP address.

Your PC is what generates the IP address, not the site you are visiting.

I've just got some free time on my hands and happened to be passing.  You know how it is.

They 

do

 track your IP through the forums.  But, as I said before, with the majority of users having a DSL, IP addresses change every time you access the interweb.

Just be aware that someone knowing your IP address is like them knowing where you live.  Hardly important unless they turn up on your doorstep.

Even then you don't have to let them in...

They can track you IP address, yes.

But that won't really help, as most people with a Digital Subscription Line will have a rolling IP address.

What's the point in having a post limit?

Essentially there already are ranks on the forum, and I know people spam the boards to get their post count up.  If the new forum is one of the 'usual' brands (php, invision, etc) it should be far easier to control who is doing what and stop people from spamming to get higher rankings.

It's going to take some work to get the current data to speak to the new forum, but I'm sure someone who gets paid far too little money and spends too much of their day staring at a computer monitor is working on this problem as we type.

It's getting perilously close to the renewal date for my subscription to FOD - 11th Feb to be exact - and I was wondering how membership renewals would be handled.  Are the same credit-cards we supplied the first time round to be charged with another annual subscription fee, or do we have to resubmit details?

I can't honestly remember seeing a charge go through last year, and I don't even use the same credit-card - so how are the subscription fees taken?  

I gathered they were non-renewing, but I only signed up for one year...
