ahem, so, the game tells you only subscribers can use the stealing function... my advice would be to... well, become a subscriber.

Actually, it used to be you could only steal from other players if you were a sub, but nonsubs could steal from the drop down bar.  That's how Fade started before I was a sub.  So, has that changed?  Robbing is only a sub function.  Is it perhaps the "try to rob" you're using?

he cant be using "try 2 rob" because that only appears after youve learned robbing, and u need 2 sub 4 that

subs obviously have the benefits of being able to rob people's houses, and steal from other people's backpacks (the little green money symbol they see next to another char's name).  non-subs get neither of those priviledges.  however, both subs and non-subs can steal from the drop-down menu.  you learn to steal in the casino, then can steal from the game itself.  don't steal outside the city, or in city centre or novice quarters... it won't work.  but you can steal in fighter's districe, magician's district, or dark district, just by clicking "try to steal" in drop-down.  and if you have a boat (5 million silvers, after paying the king 1 million) you can also steal on the second island, thord-artin.
the only problem is, you can only earn up to stealing lvl 200 using drop-down stealing.  once you reach that, you get no more experience points for drop-down stealing.  so you either have to sub then, or take up a new profession.

You can learn to rob without subbing.  My char did.  But then when she tried it she was told only subscribers can rob.  So, she had to wait before actually practicing.  That's why I'm wondering if he confused robbing with stealing.  I have no idea why it would say stealing from drop down was for subs only.  It looks like others agree that the stealing should work from the drop down.  Unless there was a change after all??  Wouldn't that have been announced?
