I think it is a false statment saying all of the troble is caused by "kids" 18 under. I do think most of it is because 95% of the people on FOD are "kids".

And as for the mods quote" first of course u wouldn't to a cop,but mods are cops,no i wouldn't like it if a person used foul mouth toward my kids, but as their parent its my job to keep them away from situations such as that(not letting them play here is one ),and no i wouldn't feel ok about it but thtas why we have legs (to walk away) and not stoop to there level,yes it is very easily possible to hold conversations off and online without using foul mouth(if u know how to act as an adult)(and as well mannered as some of the kids in here)

...what about others that dont swear and get banned..and y are others allowed to ask for cyber... and then ask for certain genders to play etc...then the people who get these cruel names that are allowed because they are "slang"....others may be offened.I also have another thing to say if i will with out being banned for speaking my mind...about that cop thing...what about moderators that say things to us that are cruel, i dont think cops would do such a thing. 

-another suggestion is that moderators should not talk when they are on their mod...name and warn people instead of just talking....if u get what im saying!!

Just a note, from my experience, I have seen adults act more childish than the kids.

I would like to reply to this topic, As I see it, These Moderators work very hard in order to keep the peace amongest players and to make it a nice place for people of all ages to come have fun and play. They do not get paid for this, and for someone to want to mute them is just a disgrace. They do the best they can for all of us members. I see in the rooms there is a lot of people in them and a lot of times only one moderator there. If you have read the rules of this site, You would plainly see what the rules are and how they work. There shouldn't even be a question of muting moderators.
If they allowed you to mute moderators there wouldn't be any use for them. Just maybe that's why you want this to happen. The only thing I can see why someone would want this is because they don't like to follow the rules and want the Freedom to get away with it. This is just how I see it. You say you lose all Freedom Of Speach in this site, Well theres a simple answer to that also, If you don't agree with how the site works, You have the Freedom to leave it. Other thing, You say it's mostly kids that cause the problems and that FOD should make a seprate room for kids and moderators should go there instead. Well I would have to agree with SunDown on that one, There are some pretty immature adults here!

Does it really matter what age someone is ?

If you are 10 years old and cause trouble on the site, how is that different from a 40 year old causing trouble?

Both will appear exactly the same within the site. They are simply a nickname that has caused problems, and run afoul of the moderation team as a result.

Muting Guests

I agree with this. Since Guests are no longer able to communicate, this feature is now obsolete.

Muting Moderators

Well....i have to say that i can never see that happening. Moderators are exempt from being muted for a reason.

The rules are fairly simple within the site, and they are not too hard to keep to. After-all, it only requires people to be polite to each other. When you break the rules, the moderators will then act to curb such behaviour. This can be a variety of ways:

A simple verbal Warning
A Demerit
A Boot
A Ban
A Ban + Demerit
A Life Ban

Now, if you are able to mute a moderator, you will immediately remove them them the simplest action, which is to give you a warning and ask you to behave more appropriately.

That then leaves the moderators with the remaining options instead. Think about it very carefully, which would you prefer, a polite warning, or to just be banned without a word. I konw which one i would prefer, and the vast majority of other people would prefer a warning first.

We generally have no use to hear what they have to say..

Well....that statement is a personal opinion. IF you dont want to listen to a moderator thats your choice, but you will not, and should not be able to mute them. Moderators are, beleive it or not, people too, not just robots.

That means that...shock horror, yes they CAN speak to people as players do, since they are also players themselves. The fact that they have moderator pirvileges does not turn them into monsters, or mean they are no longer players on the site. They have simply accepted additional duties to help maintain the site.

It is our job to help support them, and the site, by not breaking the rules, not harassing the moderators, and by being freindly and polite to all.

No matter what people say or think, the site is for playing games and having fun, and nothing should ever interfere with that. Without Moderators to maintain the status quo, the site would fall into the same category as the average yahoo chat site, which we dont want.

Problem would be solved by making it an adult site 18 & over and a seperate site for kids(and the mods can go to the kids site since thats where most the problems would be)

Cmon get real. It isnt just kids that break rules and cause problems, and no-one is really naive enough to ever believe that. The site is open to all, and should remain that way. No-one should care what age you are. YOu either play and have fun, or you cause trouble and are got rid of. What you suggest is rather interesting......

The above is what you are suggesting, and when you see it for what it really is, perhaps you can also see that it makes no sense at all.

Moderators have the option of giving a warning, as one one of a variety of actions. As im sure you can imagine, not all actions warrant a warning as a response. Some people behave so badly a warning is pointless, so they get a different reaction.

Also, each moderator may react slightly differently to the same situation. As a group im sure they try to have similar reactions, but sicne they are not robots, that cannot be programmed into them. They are regular guys n gals just like the rest of us, and will have slightly different reactions.

As to the mute button when moderators are not around.......

What else would you suggest. IF you are being annoyed by someone during a game, or in the lobby, and theres no moderator available mutin is probably your only recourse. If the behaviour you see is of sufficiently bad quality, you can always fire off a screenshot of it to the moderator team to deal with later on.

You cannot expect a team of people who are NOT paid, to be at your personal beck and call 24/7. Thats the why the suggestion to mute people is there. It allows you to turn off people and carry on enjoying the fun.

No im not a moderator. That however doesnt stop me trying to promote the FUN side of the game.

We all come here to play games and have fun, and that is really the only thing that should ever matter.

ok nice book u wrote veriac,and ty for the schooling..but in fact mods are players and for the ones who don't break the rules..should have the right to mute them..

no one claimed they are robots.but in fact they are players and as for sum of the other posts about seeing the misshaps of mods,many of us have but mods are always right..my suggestion is take ss of the wrong doings and turn it in..also make sure not to break rules and ur good to go..

but i totally agree with the fact that we as players should be able to mute whoever we need to ..especially us that don't cause problems..and there is 24/7 staff..so in actuality sumtimes mods aren't needed..take a ss send it in and let it be dealt with later in meantime mute whoever bothers u.. this site i hear once had no mods so why bring them in...

also if there was a way to make 2 different sites for adults and children i am sure they can control who logs in where.. and yes i agree some adults are just as bad..

I was here before there was Moderators, and this site wasn't such a pretty sight, from what I've seen from then compared to now, it's a lot better then it use to be. All this talk about Mods and their misshaps, well they are people just like we are, they are intitled to make mistakes also. You people act like this is some kind of attack on you all. Which is far from the truth. They are here to help you and your family members fron people that cannot obey the rules. But yet you find the need to act like this. If you ever have a problem with someone on here and you go running to a Mod or send in screen shots, your a hypocrite. Sorry to say it, but it's true. and there does come a time when you "good" people need help also. So I would really think about what you proposing to have done here. 

It would be easy to just mute these people, yes. but then you need to take into consideration them following you into your rooms like "stalkers." And well without mod to ban or punish them in some way, your left to deal with it all on your own. 

Another thing, you don't think Mods have to watch how they do things? I'm sure they are more watched then you are. If they can handle all these people on here without whinning about it, I think you should be able to also. Theres what maybe a handful of mods to our 600 + players thats just including room 1's of every game. Pretty sad once you look at it that way.

] True there was once a time no mods were here, I was here then too. I got the harrassment. Wasn't a fun thing to be cursed at all the time. And if not cursed at it was explicit sexual talk. (And if we muted they would curse others that came into the room, which were usualy friends.)

If any of you guys have a problem with moderators then the best thing to do is to simply leave and find some other place to chat and play, as I doubt the moderators have any intentions of changing their policies in the games. So the only way it works is to accept what goes on or else your not gonna enjoy being here.
