New Mill features and updates

* You can now download the PDN file of a finished match for record keeping and analysis.
* Added a new game type:

Sesotho Morabaraba

.
* Added a new game option:

Mill Cycling

. In

Strict

 mode, you cannot alternate between closing two mills without making an interim move. (

Keine Zwickmühle. Nincs csiki-csuki.

) The new option is available from Oldtimer level 5 or with an active subscription.
* Dragons have just discovered that Mill is fun. They will happily play games using these new options with anyone.
* Chat translation links are available from Oldtimer level 1

Draw rules revised



* When the same game position occurs for the

3rd time

, you may claim a draw.
* When the same game position occurs for the

5th time

, the game is drawn automatically.
* The game is drawn automatically after

50 moves by each player

 without placing or capturing a piece.
* Additionally, in

Morabaraba

and

Sesotho Morabaraba

 with

Strict Mill Cycling

, this limit is reduced to

5 moves by each player

 once either player is able to fly.

Hello! Great updates, thank you! The new Mill Cycling rule and the revised draw rules are especially interesting.

It would also be great to have a 1-minute game option sometime, and perhaps a coordinate system (a1–g7) for the board. That would make the games much more convenient for serious players and for analysing recorded games.

Also, you can use the Unrated Room for friendly play.

You could also introduce official titles that would be displayed on a player’s profile, and perhaps even in the lobby.

For example, if someone can prove with an official certificate that they have earned a title such as Grandmaster in chess or Nine Men’s Morris through over-the-board tournaments, that title could be displayed in their profile.

It would be a nice way to recognize players’ real-life achievements and give some additional credibility to their profiles.

There should be some one-minute Mill games too. Maybe a Morabaraba tournament as well. Then it would be perfect. :)

That is great!

Addition of another option - No-Flying - is long overdue.

Players from Pakistan, India and Iran, where mills game is very popular but very few players from these countries play on FlyOrDie because Mills is traditionally played without the flying phase in these countries, while FlyOrDie does not currently offer a no-flying option.

Adding a No Flying option could attract more players from these countries.

Thank you in advance for considering this suggestion and taking action.

I can open a separate

No-Flying

 room to see if there is enough interest in this variant. Baby Dragon says they’re interested too — apparently they’re getting tired of all that flying.
