use HTTPS on games pages
Hello,

I am a frequent reversi player on this site. I noticed that game pages are not using https, but the home page and forum are. Is this an oversight? Could it be fixed?

Thanks for maintaining this site. I've been playing here for 17 years. :)

Hi K16,
HTTP is the primary protocol for applications used on computers, tablets, smartphones, and many other devices.
FlyOrDie's games require the HTTP protocol.

The HTTPS protocol only is required if a web-site handles sensitive data, eg. online banking or web shops where you enter your credit card information etc. The games on FlyOrDie don't require an encrypted connection - no user sensitive data is being entered.

Kind regards,
John

Hi John Stewart,

I am familiar with the HTTP and HTTPS protocols and how they are used. I have been working as a software developer for almost 10 years. My browser has now started complaining when downloading game transcripts (PGN) from this site, because of insecure connection.

I don't understand why you would not set up HTTPS for all pages. You clearly have the certificates already for the domain.

I have asked ChatGPT as well, in case you don't take my word for it:

Hi LK16

how FlyOrDie are running their site is their responsibility.
