No, not necessarily. Maybe some players don't want to rip you off, because you're new to this game? Think of it as a nice gesture. This behaviour will change over time, I'm quite sure.

Did you know: below the "Start Game" button there's a blue "Practice" button. You can practice there in "single player mode" to improve your skills.
