Rating reduction Overall ratings are decreased each day by an amount depending on the current rating. The following formula is used: Rn = ( Ro * Ro ) / 125000 Rn is the new rating. Ro the old (previous day) rating. Rating Amount subtracted below 353 1 354-500 2 501-612 3 613-707 4 708-790 5 791-866 6 867-935 7 936-1000 8 So players with higher rating will see their rating decrease quicker. A 500 rating will reach zero in approximately 1.5 years without playing. ---------------------------------------------------------- In my opinion it is biased. There should be also rule of "saving minimum rating" for players with many games, for example: A player who already have 2000 games can not have worse raning than 18 purely due to "consistently amount substracted" By that way, the following sequence would be something about: 20 games - minimum to "2" rating punishment 200 games - minimum to "6" rating 2000 games - minimum to "18" rating 20 000 games (very difficult to reach) - minimum to "54" rating" 200 000 games (that amount of games in not practial, even for 15 years at short games like Gomku) - minimum "162" rating. In the follolowing sequence the amount of games is increasing by "x10..." (from 20 to 200 000), meanwhile rating "x3..." (from 2 to 162) ---------------------------------------------------------- What do yo guys think?
