That war was not based on slavery! The yanks took our slaves away, so they could cripple us....

And in fact, without having a biased opinion on the matter, the Emancipation Proclomation stated slaves were free in _rebel_ states, thusly you can conclude that slaves in free states were released at a later time.

Just wanna say....They had their own little homes outside of the white man house...and yes the white men had to get out there and work with the slaves. Then someone says "well they werent payed!"...why do you have to pay em when ya supply them with what they need? Slaves helped the South a lot. It helped industry go faster down here ;)
