use fine aim.
use less spin than 8ball.

I always find a common mistake made by most pool players playing the snooker game is pace, try to make the white ball move as little as possible not go round every cushion twice. Spin also has much more of an effect on the object ball so a slight bit of side will kick the shot that way and can often cause a miss. I don't claim to be very good at the game tho so I could just be talking complete tripe.
