Well in my opinion the time is reasonable, let me give you a few reasons why.
#1)- Let us say your snookered and you don't have many outs and so on, you need that time to think of different ways to hit your object ball.
#2)- You also need that time too plan ahead your positions for that game.
These are just a few there is a lot more reasons why the time given is more than reasonable. Shorter time for either 8 ball or 9 ball wouldn't be good as these types of games are not meant too be rushed like Quick Snooker. Just my opinion.
